Ajax are reportedly interested in signing former Liverpool star Jordan Henderson from Al-Ettifaq.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Dutch giants are among several clubs who are keen on the experienced midfielder.
However, the 33-year-old may not be allowed to leave this month as he is contracted to the Dammam-based outfit until 2026.
Henderson joined the Saudi Pro League club from Liverpool for £12 million last summer, but the move has not worked out as planned.
The England international has struggled to adjust to life in the Middle East and is desperate to return to the Premier League even though the move would cost him millions of pounds in tax and lost wages.
Manager Steven Gerrard and Ian Foster were instrumental in convincing him to move to Al-Ettifaq.
However, Foster has resigned from his position, while Gerrard has been facing immense scrutiny after a disappointing run of form.
It is debatable whether any top-flight clubs in England would be interested in signing Henderson in January, making Ajax a viable option.
