Liverpool have confirmed Ben Doak has penned a new contract at Anfield.
The 17-year-old came to Merseyside from Celtic last summer, and he has excelled as part of the club’s academy.
The teenager made his competitive debut in November last year when he featured as a substitute against Derby County in the League Cup.
He has since made five more first-team appearances, with the latest coming in the Reds’ 1-1 draw at Chelsea.
The Scottish footballer has also been an unused substitute in three further Liverpool matches this season.
His impressive development has impressed manager Jurgen Klopp, who included him in his squad for pre-season.
Doak has now penned a new contract to commit his long-term future with the Reds.
He is regarded as one of the most talented in the Reds’ academy and looks to have a bright future.
Doak mainly plays as a right winger but can also be deployed on the left wing and in the middle as a striker.
The youngster is also earmarked for an international call-up by Scotland after he impressed with his displays for the Under-21 side.
Doak will have to be patient as he is unlikely to get many first-team opportunities this season due to massive competition for places at Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp currently has several top-quality forwards at his disposal, including Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota.
