Fulham ready to offload Palhinha amid Chelsea, Man City & Liverpool interest

Fulham defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha remains a hot property on the transfer market, and the Portuguese destroyer has no shortage of potential suitors in the Premier League.

As per talkSPORT, the Cottagers are ready to cut him loose this summer, and Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool are circling with interest.

Palhinha is considered a vital part of Marco Silva’s squad, but Fulham will consider parting ways with the former Sporting CP man for the right price.

This has been pegged at around £60 million, but that is unlikely to deter the Premier League trio that are increasingly interested in securing Palhinha’s services.

The 28-year-old came close to bidding farewell to Fulham last summer when he travelled to Germany on deadline day to join Bayern Munich, but the deal fell through as they failed to secure a replacement.

Palhinha subsequently pledged his allegiance to the Cottagers, signing a new five-year contract that keeps him at Craven Cottage until 2028.

Fulham will also retain an option to extend his stay for a further year, and the new deal puts them in a strong negotiating position ahead of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea have already spent a fortune to reconstruct their midfield. But the Blues have been decimated by injuries this season, and Palhinha could also add the maturity and experience they lack in the middle of the park.

Another summer battle with Liverpool could ensue with the Reds also in the market for a defensive midfielder after losing out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to their London counterparts.

Wataru Endo has proven to be a solid addition, but they could do with someone of Palhinha’s expertise.

Man City are also expected to be in the mix for Palhinha, who would replace West Ham United loanee Kalvin Phillips at the Etihad Stadium.
