Forward Mohamed Salah has been named the 2024/25 PFA Players’ Player of the Year.
The Egypt international helped Liverpool win their 20th league title last term, providing 29 goals and 18 assists in 38 games.
He won the Golden Boot, becoming only the second player to finish as Premier League top scorer on four occasions and the first to claim the Golden Boot, Playmaker award and Player of the Season in the same campaign.
He has now won the award three times, surpassing the likes of Mark Hughes, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Ronaldo, Bale, and Kevin De Bruyne – all of whom have won it twice in the ranking.
He won the award for the first time in the 2017/18 campaign – his first season with the Reds – when he netted 32 times. He was the recipient again in the 2021/22 season, when he notched 23 goals and 13 assists in 35 games.
The 33-year-old has been in great form since joining Liverpool and has also broken several club records, including most goals scored in a debut season, European goals in a single campaign and the fastest player to score 50 goals for the club.
He has also started this campaign brightly, scoring in Liverpool’s 4-2 win over Bournemouth to become the first player to score 10 opening day goals.
Undoubtedly, Salah has become a Premier League great and is in the conversation for the best player to have ever played in the division.
In other categories, Aston Villa youngster was named the Young Player of the Year, and Manchester City’s new goalkeeper James Trafford was named Championship Players’ Player of the Year.
Liverpool had the most representatives in the Team of the Year, including Salah, Virgil van Dijk, new signing Milos Kerkez, Ryan Gravenberch, and Alexis McAllister.
